Bankside is an area between Tower Bridge Road in SE1 and Blackfriars Road. It has the benefit of two Network Rail stations at London Bridge and Blackfriars as well as a multitude of bars and restaurants which make it such a magnet for tourists and office workers alike.

At the heart of the area is Borough Market, which has been recreated as a unique destination for London foodies. It attracts the office population from the immediate area as well as the City for lunch and after-work leisure activities. As the 'Larder of London' it had a role as the source of food for the capital for hundreds of years and now it has become part museum, part archetypal-London-backdrop and also an entertainment hub.

The excellent modern office space provided by the Shard and Bankside1/2/3 on Southwark Street blends with the warehouse conversions offering high ceilings and sash windows. Contemporary spaces give the corporate giants what they need, but the architects, designers and media companies, for whom the area has always been home, still have a good choice of more creative space.

Bermondsey Street, Union Street and Great Suffolk Street have a good number of interesting converted warehouses with high ceilings and exposed services. Lavington Street, Blackfriars Road and Southwark Street are more conventional locations but also have various impressive buildings to choose from in this very diverse area.
